Thank’s for stopping by.
My name is Mr. Jones and I am proud to be the Principal of Loyalton High School!
Our staff and students work hard each day to help keep our campus a wonderful place to be. Our school is proud to provide a high quality education to the students of the Sierra Valley and beyond!
I am quite fortunate to work in North Eastern California and in the Eastern Sierra’s. Our high deserts, ranch lands, and forests are very familiar to me. I am a product of the adjacent Lassen County, and graduated from Herlong High School.
Being aware of the benefits the United States army offered, I enlisted in the Army after High School. While in the Army I served as a Personnel Services Specialist at Fort Hood, Texas and a 6 month deployment in Kuwait.
The military provided me with opportunities that helped me leap forward in life. After a 4 year enlistment I returned back to Northeastern California and moved to Reno, Nevada where I began my studies at the University of Nevada majoring in Secondary Education with the intent to teach history.
Upon completion of my degree, my first teaching assignment was none other than Loyalton High School. I taught for 6 months and then found employment at my high school alma mater, Herlong High. I was employed there for 9 years teaching the Histories, English 12, PE, and serving as Vice-Principal. AdditionallyI coached many sports and was the school’s Athletic Director.
When I had the opportunity to apply to be the Principal at LHS, I jumped at the opportunity. The record of success and achievement paired with this community’s support, makes it a wonderful place to continue my career.
I love working with the kids and families of the Sierra Valley and look forward to many years of helping kids reach their potential.
