5:30pm notification going out this evening. Sorry about the intrusive Saturday night call. ~Mr. Jones

_______________________________________________________________

Happy Saturday everyone, I hope you are enjoying your weekend, this is Mr. Jones with some added pieces of information regarding our upcoming reopening.

Please remember that the procedures that we are outlining in these all calls are mandatory safety procedures that must be in place in order for us to operate. We thank everyone in advance for your cooperation in helping us stay healthy and open.

In the last all call, we covered arriving at school. Tonight, I’d like to cover navigating throughout the day while at LHS. As mentioned before, all students must wear facial coverings while inside at all times. Students can remove their masks only while outdoors and properly distanced.

All face coverings must also meet the dress code.

When entering into classrooms, students will maintain space, use hand sanitizer, and remain at their desks. At the conclusion of each period, classroom desk surfaces will be sanitized by staff and students will exit to their next destination.

Traffic in the hallways must follow the directional arrows on the floor and students will need to keep moving to their destination. There will be no congregating in the halls or common areas. As stated previously, lockers will not be available at this time. Additionally, restrooms are only to be used during class to prevent lines during passing periods.

Student to-go lunches will be available from the LES cafeteria. If a student wishes to eat lunch please have them request the lunch when prompted by our lunch count team during 1st period. If a lunch is requested, students will walk to the cafeteria back door to receive their lunch.

They will then return to LHS to the picnic tables that will be properly spaced and sanitized over by the baseball field. A reminder, there will be no microwaves available in order to avoid lines.

High Schoolers that depart campus for lunch, will be asked not to share vehicles with others outside your household.

Upon departure from the school at the end of the day, everyone will be asked to depart the building with a purpose, watch out for and yield for busses, and safely depart school.

Today, we dealt with what precautions will be in place during the school day.

Tomorrow we will have a quick recap of what’s expected for Monday and a reminder about some of the first day forms that we need back in the office.

Have a fantastic rest of your night.

Tonight's 5:30 all call... Mr. J
_____________________________________

Good afternoon Loyalton High Parents and students,

This is Mr. Jones with the first of a few informational bulletins about Monday’s in-person reopening.

First off, student schedules will be changing as we migrate to a 8 period block schedule.

The students schedules for A and B days will be displayed in student PowerSchool accounts starting Friday evening.

We will start Monday with an a day and in your student’s 1A class.

Busses will operate and be available only for those who have self identified as not being able to provide transportation for their student. All others are expected to provide transportation for their student both to and from school.

When arriving at LHS please drop students off in front of the school, make your way to the end of the drive, flip a u-turn at the FB field and exit back to 4th st.

Students who are driving may only park in front of the school and in the church parking lot. Staff will park in the rear of the school. This is to make room for the busses that will be unloading on the baseball field side of the school.

All non-bus riders must be temperature checked prior to coming into the school and must have facial coverings. All bus riders will be screened prior to boarding a bus. If facial coverings are forgotten, the school has a supply.

All students will report directly to their 1st period class on Monday morning without stopping in the hallways or bear caves. If students do not know their schedule, a printed schedule will be provided for them in the gym. If a student seeks a schedule change, please email Mr. Jones your request.

Today’s all call just deals with the schedule, arriving, parking, and beginning school.

Future all calls this week will deal other aspects of our reopening procedures.

Thank you for your time have a good evening and you’ll hear from me again soon.

Tonight's 5:30pm Weekend Update... ~Mr. Jones

_______________________________________________________________

Hello Loyalton High School parents and students!

This is Mr. Jones with your weekend update.

As you’ve heard from the Superintendent, We have an in-person re-opening date booked!

October 12th we will resume on camps instruction while having COVID abatement procedures in effect.

There will be more all calls during the upcoming week to refresh parents on our safe reopening.

Our reopening plan is posted on the loyaltonhighschool.org website and on the SPJUSD facebook page.

All of our procedures that are in place have at their core 3 fundamentals: facial coverings, social distancing, and cleaning.

These procedures are not optional, they are mandatory in order for us to stay open.

Thank you to the many parents who have done so much in support of your students. You all have been amazing during this crisis and there will still be more to do.

Remember that school bus capacity has been greatly reduced. If you responded on the survey that you can provide transportation for your student, you will be expected to do so. Bus drivers have lists of those students whose parents have stated that they must have bussing.

Lastly for tonight, students’ class schedules will change as we transition to a block schedule. Students and parents may monitor their PowerSchool later in the week to see their schedules. In most cases, student’s current classes will not change. They will however pick up a couple of new classes as we move into the 8 period block.

We’ve all worked very hard to get to this point, let’s have a productive last week of distance learning and I’ll have more information as we progress through the week.

If you have any questions, please email me at tjones@spjusd.org.

Have a fantastic week and go grizzlies!

Tonight's 5:30pm All-Call. ~Mr. Jones
______________________________
Good evening Loyalton High School parents and students, this is Mr. Jones with your weekend update.

Students, great job being resilient and hanging in there during distance learning. Your hard work will pay off when we are back on campus. There has been good news on the re-opening front and we will continue to move forward with our plans for re-opening. There will be an announcement this week on our timeline for re-opening. Things are looking up!

This Tuesday, September 29th, LHS will hold its College Night at 7 pm in the LHS gym. Senior class advisors will give a presentation to students and parents about types of colleges and certificate programs. Topics will include: college entry requirements, admission steps, and financial aide opportunities. This opportunity is available to ALL LHS students and parents, regardless of grade level. It especially applies to seniors, but other students and parents may want to get started with familiarizing themselves on this information. Please be prepared to wear a facial covering and also properly distance yourselves in the gym.

Lastly, tomorrow we will hold an online ASB election assembly via zoom. Candidates will share with you their ideas for the upcoming year. Following the assembly, there will be a link posted in the Mr. Jones classroom where you’ll be able to submit your votes. All votes must include your name and you can only vote once. The election will be live for 30 minutes following the assembly. Please click on the zoom link at 1:25. The assembly will begin at 1:30. This assembly is only for 9th through 12th grade.

Have a great week everybody and go grizzlies!

When selecting your show hog, there are many areas that you need to assess. The first area you should evaluate is structure. If a baby pig has poor structure, it will be difficult for the animal
to function as a 260 to 280-pound pig. Here are some points to keep in mind when selecting for your new swine project. #texas4h #swinesunday
